Fees and steps checked on
Australia degree attestation makes an Australian university degree valid in the UAE for a work permit, a golden visa or degree recognition. A notary certifies the degree, the university confirms it, DFAT (the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) issues an authentication certificate, the UAE Embassy in Canberra attests it, and MOFA attestation completes it for use in the UAE.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
Who needs an Australian degree attested
- Skilled jobs. The UAE work permit for skilled roles requires an attested education certificate. See degree attestation for a UAE work visa.
- Golden visa. The skilled professional route asks for an attested bachelor's degree or equivalent and a salary of at least AED 30,000. See attestation for the golden visa.
- Recognition. Degree recognition by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research replaced the old equivalency certificate. It needs the attested degree first.
Authentication, not apostille
Australia is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention and the UAE is not. For the UAE, DFAT therefore issues an authentication certificate rather than an apostille. If you already hold an apostille on your degree, check with us before going further, as the UAE route is built on the authentication.
Australia degree attestation step by step
- Notary. An Australian notary public certifies the degree.
- University check. For education documents, the university's confirmation is part of the chain before DFAT.
- DFAT authentication. DFAT confirms the notary's signature and issues its authentication certificate.
- UAE Embassy Canberra. The embassy attests the authenticated degree.
- MOFA. MOFA attestation is applied for online, because MOFA counters in the UAE are closed, and the degree is delivered to you in the UAE.
Official fees for each stage
Every official fee and the courier are included in the total price you get before any work starts. Other Australian documents follow the chain on Australia certificate attestation.
Common problems and how to avoid them
- Apostille ordered instead of authentication. A common mistake when the request does not say the document is for the UAE.
- Skipping the university check. DFAT authenticates signatures it can verify, so the notary and university steps come first.
- Laminated testamurs. MOFA does not accept laminated documents. Ask your university for a replacement first.
- Name changes. If your passport name differs from the degree, attest your Australian marriage certificate too.
- Transcripts forgotten. Some employers and the recognition process want the academic transcript as well. Decide before the chain starts.
The general route for degrees from every country is on degree certificate attestation. Once attested, the degree is accepted in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates.
