UAE Embassy attestation in the Philippines

The UAE Embassy in Manila attests Philippine papers only after the DFA apostille. Here is what you, or your family at home, should prepare, and how the stamp can be arranged while you are already in the UAE.

UAE Embassy attestation in the Philippines is the stamp the UAE Embassy in Manila puts on a Philippine document so it can be used in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate. The embassy only takes papers that already carry a DFA apostille, and school records need a CAV even before that. After the embassy, MOFA attests the document for use in the UAE.

Price: we have no fixed price for Philippine documents. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.

Where the embassy fits in the chain

Order Office What it does
1 CHED, DepEd or TESDA Issues the CAV for diplomas, transcripts and school records
1 PSA Issues the birth, marriage or CENOMAR copy used for attestation
2 Department of Foreign Affairs Adds the apostille
3 UAE Embassy in Manila Attests the apostilled document, through VFS Global
4 UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Final attestation for use in the UAE

Step 1 depends on the document. Notarised papers, such as an affidavit, skip the CAV and the PSA but still need the DFA. For the full list of Philippine documents and the steps each one takes, start with our main page on Philippines certificate attestation.

Getting the paper ready in the Philippines

If you, a parent or a sibling is handling the papers at home, this is the order that avoids a wasted trip.

  1. Ask for the right copy. For civil documents, request a fresh PSA copy, not the one from the local civil registrar. The DFA also runs a fully online apostille for PSA documents.
  2. Get the CAV for school records. CHED handles college degrees, DepEd basic education and TESDA technical courses. The school or university usually starts the request.
  3. Book the DFA apostille. The regular service takes about 4 working days, the expedited one the next business day. The DFA has issued apostilles instead of red ribbons since 14 May 2019.
  4. Submit for UAE Embassy attestation. Since about May 2024 this goes through VFS Global, the provider MOFA uses for attestation, linked to the MOFA portal.
  5. MOFA. The last stamp is UAE MOFA attestation. For some countries MOFA now issues it digitally together with the embassy step. We confirm which way your document goes.

Keep the original flat and clean. MOFA does not accept laminated papers.

Already working in the UAE

Most people who search for this are not in Manila. They are in Dubai or Sharjah and the document is in a drawer back home. You have two options.

  • A relative does the Philippine part. Sign a special power of attorney at the Philippine Consulate in Dubai naming them, so they can deal with the PSA, the school, the DFA and the embassy for you.
  • You hand the original to us in the UAE. We send it to Manila, the CAV, apostille and embassy steps are done there, and it comes back for MOFA. You do not fly home.

If the original is still at home, a relative can courier it to you first, or straight to Manila for the first steps.

Which documents people send most

Mistakes that send papers back

  • Going to the embassy before the DFA. No apostille means no embassy stamp.
  • Diploma sent to the DFA with no CAV. The verification comes first.
  • A civil registrar copy instead of PSA. Ask for the PSA version.
  • Thinking the apostille is the end. The UAE is not in the Apostille Convention, so the embassy and MOFA steps still follow.
  • Names spelled differently on the passport, the diploma and the PSA record.

Questions people ask

What does the UAE Embassy in Manila need before it attests a document?

A DFA apostille on the document. School records first need a CAV from CHED, DepEd or TESDA, and civil registry papers should be PSA-issued copies.

Do I need to visit the UAE Embassy in Manila in person?

Usually not. Since about May 2024 the embassy has handled attestation through its partner VFS Global, and the request is linked to the MOFA portal. A representative or a document service can submit for you.

Can I get UAE Embassy attestation for my Philippine papers while I live in Dubai?

Yes. A relative in the Philippines can act for you with a special power of attorney, or you hand your originals to a service in the UAE that sends them to Manila and brings them back attested.

Is the DFA apostille enough for Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

No. The UAE is not a member of the Apostille Convention. After the DFA, the UAE Embassy in Manila and MOFA must also attest the document.

How long does the DFA apostille take?

About 4 working days on the regular service, or the next business day on the expedited service.

How much does UAE Embassy attestation from the Philippines cost?

Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get one total price, all official fees included, before any work starts.
