Fees and steps checked on
Chamber of commerce attestation is the stamp that confirms a company document was signed by the company's authorised signatory. In Dubai it is done by Dubai Chambers and usually takes about two hours. Salary certificates, NOCs, company letters and trade documents then go to MOFA and, for use abroad, the destination country's embassy.
Price: chamber requests depend on the document and the destination. Send your details on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
Which documents need chamber attestation
The chamber step applies to documents a UAE company issues and signs itself. Typical examples:
- Salary certificates for a visit visa, a mortgage or a school abroad
- Experience and employment letters issued by a private company
- No objection certificates from an employer, see NOC attestation
- Commercial letters, contracts and price lists sent to buyers abroad
- Certificates of origin for exports
- Invoices where the buyer's country asks for a chamber stamp
Government-issued documents, such as a trade licence, do not need the chamber. They go straight to MOFA attestation.
Dubai Chambers attestation services
| Dubai Chambers service | Stated time |
|---|---|
| Signature attestation | About two hours |
| True copy of a document | About two hours |
| Letters and certificates | About two hours |
| Certificate of origin | About two hours |
Dubai Chambers says signature attestation is open to its members and is requested online or in the Dubai Chambers app. Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates have their own chambers, so a company registered in Abu Dhabi uses the Abu Dhabi chamber.
After the chamber: MOFA and the embassy
| Step | Who stamps it |
|---|---|
| 1. Signature attestation | Dubai Chambers (or the chamber of your emirate) |
| 2. MOFA attestation, commercial document | UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs |
| 2. MOFA attestation, personal document | UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs |
| 3. Embassy legalisation | Embassy of the destination country in the UAE |
Whether MOFA treats your document as personal or commercial depends on the document type you select on the MOFA system. A salary certificate for your own visa file is handled differently from a company contract. We tell you which applies before you pay. The full outbound route is on UAE documents for use abroad.
Chamber of commerce attestation step by step
- Check the document: company letterhead, date, stamp and the signature of a person registered with the chamber as an authorised signatory.
- Confirm what the receiving office wants: chamber only, chamber plus MOFA, or chamber, MOFA and embassy.
- Submit the chamber request from the company's Dubai Chambers account.
- Collect the attested document, or the digital version, usually the same day.
- Apply for MOFA attestation and pay the MOFA fee.
- Take it to the destination embassy in the UAE if the country requires it. See embassy attestation in the UAE.
Chamber attestation for a visit visa or a loan abroad
A frequent request is a salary certificate for a visit visa to another country, or for a bank or landlord abroad. The embassy wants proof that you work in the UAE, earn what you say and will come back. Before you ask HR for the letter, check the embassy checklist: some want the salary split into basic and allowances, some want the employer's trade licence copy attached, and some want the letter addressed to the embassy by name. Getting the wording right first avoids paying the chamber and MOFA fees twice.
Common problems and how to avoid them
- The signatory is not registered. The chamber attests only signatures it holds on file. If an HR manager signs but is not a registered signatory, the request is refused.
- Company membership has lapsed. Renew the chamber membership with the trade licence, or the request cannot be made.
- Missing details. A salary certificate with no passport number, no date or no company stamp is often sent back by the embassy later.
- Invoices on the wrong system. Commercial invoices of AED 10,000 and above go through MOFA eDAS, not the standard attestation route. See commercial document attestation.
How we help
We review the document, prepare the chamber request with the company's authorisation, and then handle MOFA and embassy legalisation in one order. Our processing partner, a licensed typing and attestation centre in Bur Dubai, submits the applications; Dubai Chambers, MOFA and the embassies issue the stamps. We work for companies and employees in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
What to have ready
- The document on company letterhead, dated, with the company stamp
- The signature of a person registered with the chamber as an authorised signatory
- A valid chamber membership, linked to the trade licence
- The destination country, so we know whether MOFA and the embassy follow
A salary certificate with the passport number and date already in place rarely comes back with questions.
