Egypt certificate attestation is the legalisation chain that makes an Egyptian degree, marriage contract, birth certificate or company document valid in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the rest of the UAE. Egypt is not in the Hague Apostille Convention, so there is no Egyptian apostille: documents are legalised by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attested by the UAE Embassy in Cairo, then finished with MOFA attestation in the UAE.

Two routes: personal documents and education documents
For Egypt the chain splits clearly by document type. The routes below come from VFS Global, the service provider that processes UAE embassy attestation for about 50 countries including Egypt.
Personal documents (birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates):
- Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry legalises the civil certificate.
- UAE Embassy in Cairo. The embassy attests the Egyptian foreign ministry stamp.
- MOFA in the UAE. The final stamp.
Education documents (degrees, transcripts, school certificates):
- University verification. The university that issued the degree verifies it.
- Regional education office and Ministry of Education. The education authorities certify the document.
- Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Legalisation of the education stamps.
- UAE Embassy in Cairo. Attestation of the foreign ministry stamp.
- MOFA in the UAE. The final stamp.

Egypt embassy attestation fee and total cost
The UAE mission fee is paid on the MOFA portal, and MOFA charges again for its own stamp. Our total price includes every official fee, so a quote for an Egyptian degree is the full cost from Cairo to Dubai.
Arabic documents: no translation needed for MOFA
Most Egyptian certificates are issued in Arabic, and MOFA accepts Arabic and English. That removes the translation cost that documents from non-Arabic, non-English countries carry. If the receiving office asks for an English version, for example an international employer, we can add a legal translation.
Already in the UAE?
The Egyptian steps need the original document in Egypt. It goes by courier or a relative hands it in, and the attested original comes back to you in the UAE. MOFA allows anyone to submit the UAE application on your behalf, so you do not need to take leave or travel.

Common problems with Egyptian documents
- Degree sent straight to the foreign ministry. Education documents need university verification and the education ministry first, or they come back unstamped.
- Old or worn certificates. If a contract or certificate is old or hard to read, a recently issued official copy may be needed. You are told before any work starts.
- Name differences. Arabic names transliterated differently on your passport and visa can cause questions. Keep a passport copy with the file.
- Lamination. MOFA does not attest laminated certificates.

What to send us
Send a clear scan or photo of the document, front and back, and the passport page of the holder. For a degree, also name the university and faculty and the year of graduation. For a marriage or birth certificate, say whether it is the long form from the civil registry. With that we confirm the Egyptian chain, the order of stamps and the total price. The original is only needed in Egypt once you agree the route.
Where the time goes
Most of the wait is in the Egyptian steps, because each office stamps in turn: the issuing body, the education authorities for degrees, the foreign ministry, then the embassy. The final MOFA step inside the UAE is the fast part. Your timeline is confirmed when you send a copy, since it depends on the document type.
How to check the finished attestation
The MOFA stamp carries a reference number and issue date. Enter both at verify.mofa.gov.ae, or follow the steps on MOFA attestation verification, before you hand the document to an employer or visa office.
