Old MOFA centres you may still find on maps

Many map pins and older guides point to MOFA attestation centres that no longer serve the public:

  • Marina Mall. This is in Abu Dhabi, not Dubai. Older listings show a MOFA attestation counter there.
  • Al Tawar Centre and a service centre at Emirates Towers. Older guides name these for Dubai.
  • Shopping mall kiosks. Some listings for "MOFA office near me" are private typing offices, not the ministry.

MOFA's own wording is plain: the Customer Happiness Centres are closed, and its services are provided online or through the app. Our wider guide to the closed centres across the emirates is on MOFA attestation centres.

How attestation works without a MOFA office

MOFA offers two routes for documents issued in the UAE, both started online:

  1. Digital attestation. An original UAE digital PDF with a QR code, barcode or reference number is attested within 2 hours in official working hours. You download the result.
  2. Courier attestation. For a paper document, you sign in with UAE PASS, choose the issuing authority and document type, enter your address and pay. An approved courier collects the original. Inside the UAE this takes 1 to 3 business days, depending on the courier.

Documents issued abroad do not go to any MOFA office in the UAE. They are attested by the UAE embassy in the issuing country, and for many countries the embassy and MOFA stamps now come together digitally. See UAE embassy attestation.

The full online steps are on MOFA attestation online.

What to have ready

You do not bring anything to an office, but MOFA's rules for the document still apply:

  • A UAE PASS account to sign in (or we apply for you)
  • The original document, not a photocopy
  • The stamp of the authority that issued it, for example the court, the university or the health authority
  • Arabic or English text, or a legal translation
  • No lamination

Most refusals come from a missing first stamp. The full list is on MOFA attestation requirements.

Our office in Bur Dubai

We are a private document service, not MOFA. Our office is in Bur Dubai near Sharaf DG Metro Station, and we collect and return documents free anywhere in Dubai. MOFA allows anyone to submit an application on someone else's behalf, so we check your document, file it, follow it up and bring it back.

Our office hours are Monday to Thursday and Saturday 9 am to 10 pm, and Friday 9 am to 12:30 pm and 3 pm to 10 pm. Directions are on the contact page. For the full Dubai service, see MOFA attestation in Dubai.

Which route suits your document

Choose the route by where the document was issued and whether it is digital or paper.

  • A UAE digital PDF with a QR code, barcode or reference number. Apply online and download the attested file, usually within 2 hours in official working hours.
  • A UAE paper document. Apply online, then hand the original to the approved courier. Allow 1 to 3 business days inside the UAE.
  • A document from abroad. The UAE embassy in the issuing country does the first attestation, and for many countries MOFA attests at the same time digitally. No trip to Bur Dubai helps here.

Checking the result

Once your document is back, check it on verify.mofa.gov.ae with the reference number and issue date. Details are in MOFA attestation verification. Do this before you send the document to an employer, school or visa office, so a problem is found while it is still easy to fix.

Questions people ask

Where is the MOFA office in Dubai?

MOFA lists its Dubai branch in the Consulates District in Bur Dubai, with opening hours of 8 am to 3 pm. Check MOFA's FAQ page before you go, as details can change.

Can I get my documents attested at the MOFA office in Dubai?

No. MOFA says its Customer Happiness Centres are closed. Attestation is applied for on the MOFA website or app with UAE PASS, and an approved courier collects the original from you.

Is there a MOFA attestation centre at Marina Mall?

Marina Mall is in Abu Dhabi, and older listings show a MOFA attestation counter there. MOFA now says its Customer Happiness Centres are closed, so do not plan a trip around that listing.

Where is the nearest MOFA office to me?

MOFA lists three offices: the headquarters in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi, the Dubai branch in Bur Dubai and the Sharjah branch in Rahmaniyah. For attestation the nearest point is your own address, because the courier comes to you.

What do I need to bring for MOFA attestation?

Nothing to an office. Online you need a UAE PASS account and the original document, attested by the authority that issued it, in Arabic or English or with a legal translation, and not laminated.

Are you MOFA?

No. We are a private document service in Bur Dubai. MOFA allows anyone to apply on someone else's behalf, so we file and track the attestation for you.

How long does MOFA attestation take if I do not visit an office?

A UAE digital PDF can be attested within 2 hours in official working hours. A paper document on the courier route takes 1 to 3 business days inside the UAE.

How do I check a MOFA attestation I already have?

Enter the reference number and issue date on verify.mofa.gov.ae. This works from anywhere, so there is no need to visit an office.
