Poland certificate attestation turns a Polish diploma, school certificate, civil record or notarial deed into a document the UAE accepts. Academic documents take an extra Polish stop at NAWA. After that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MSZ) legalises the document, the UAE Embassy in Warsaw attests it, and MOFA attestation closes the chain.

The Polish education gate
Poland is unusual because academic documents do not go to the foreign ministry directly. Which office comes first depends on the level:

NAWA, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, describes a two-step procedure for a country outside the Hague Convention: authentication at NAWA, then legalisation at MSZ, after which the embassy of the destination country legalises it again.
Legalisation, not apostille
MSZ issues both stamps, and the request form asks which one you want. The legalisation is the right one for the UAE; the apostille does not replace the UAE embassy step. Applying for both means two forms and two payments, so we file only the one needed.
Step by step
- Sworn translation (tłumacz przysięgły) into English, the first item in the VFS Global chain for Poland.
- NAWA or kuratorium for diplomas and school certificates.
- MSZ legalisation in Warsaw.
- UAE Embassy in Warsaw. The current submission method is confirmed for your file.
- MOFA in the UAE. MOFA attests personal and commercial documents.
Polish names and diacritics
Polish letters such as ł, ś, ż and ń are often lost in UAE systems, so "Łukasz" becomes "Lukasz". Women's surnames ending in "-ska" or "-cka" and men's in "-ski" or "-cki" can also confuse a UAE clerk comparing a married couple's papers. Send passport copies for everyone named on the documents so the translation follows the passport spelling. If an Arabic version is also required, we add a legal translation in Dubai.

- A KRS extract and board resolution for a UAE branch or free zone company

From the UAE
You do not have to travel to Warsaw. MOFA allows anyone to apply on your behalf, and the original goes to Poland and back by courier. Tell us early if your university has merged or closed, so we can check who signs for it before NAWA.
