Afghanistan certificate attestation makes an Afghan degree, school certificate, marriage certificate, birth record or power of attorney valid for a UAE visa, job or licence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate. Afghanistan and the UAE are both outside the Hague Apostille Convention, so there is no apostille route. The chain is the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the UAE Embassy in Kabul, which issues a digital attestation that already includes MOFA attestation.

The Afghanistan to UAE attestation route
- Issuing authority. Whoever issued the paper, a university, school, court or civil registry, confirms it first so Kabul's foreign ministry can verify the signature. Degrees usually need the higher education authority's stamp first.
- Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry in Kabul attests the document. The UAE embassy will not accept an Afghan document without this stamp.
- MOFA application. The request is made on the MOFA website with UAE PASS, choosing Afghanistan as the country of issue, and paid online.
- UAE Embassy in Kabul. The original is presented at the embassy, because the digital attestation still needs the paper document.
- Digital result. The document arrives by email, attested by the embassy and MOFA. It can be checked through MOFA attestation verification.
MOFA says most of these requests finish within 2 to 3 business days once the original is at the embassy.

Afghan procedures have changed in recent years, and the stamps an older document carries may not match what the ministry asks for today. So we look at a photo first and tell you which stamps your paper still needs. Nothing is charged until that is settled.

Language: Dari, Pashto or English
MOFA accepts documents in Arabic or English. Many Afghan university documents have an English version, but civil records are often only in Dari or Pashto and need a certified translation. If a UAE court or ministry also wants Arabic, we arrange legal translation in Dubai at the end.
Already in the UAE?
Most of our Afghan clients live in the UAE. The original has to reach Kabul, so it travels by courier or a relative hands it in at the ministry and the embassy. Common problems with Afghan documents
- Missing ministry stamp. The UAE embassy rejects any Afghan document without the foreign ministry attestation, so that step always comes first.
- Degree without the education stamp. Kabul checks the higher education seal, so a degree without it is usually sent back.
- Name spelling. Dari names can be written in English in several ways. The translation should follow the Latin spelling in your passport.
- Old or damaged originals. Faded or repaired documents may need a newly issued copy. We tell you from the photo.
- Plastic covers. A laminated certificate cannot be stamped by MOFA, so keep originals unsealed.
