Fees and steps checked on
Iran certificate attestation makes an Iranian university degree, marriage certificate, shenasnameh (birth certificate and identity booklet) or company document acceptable to UAE authorities. On the Iranian side the document is translated by an official translator, legalised by the judiciary and then by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After that come the UAE mission step and MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Each Iranian file is quoted separately once the current UAE-side route is confirmed for that document. See attestation fees.
The Iranian side of the chain
- Source verification. Degrees are checked with the university and the ministry that oversees it. Civil records come from the National Organization for Civil Registration.
- Official translation. A sworn translator certified by the Iranian judiciary translates the document, usually into English. The judiciary's office for official translators confirms the translator.
- Judiciary (Ministry of Justice) legalisation. Embassies in Tehran describe this step before the foreign ministry.
- Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry legalises the judiciary stamp. Every foreign embassy in Tehran that we checked requires this stamp before its own.
The UAE side, and what we confirm first
The general UAE rule is the issuing country's foreign ministry, then the UAE embassy in that country, then MOFA. The UAE has an embassy in Tehran, but its attestation page could not be opened, and Iran is not on the VFS Global list of UAE attestation countries. So the exact UAE-side step for your Iranian document is confirmed from your copy before any work starts, and you are told if a document cannot be done.

Iranian families in the UAE
Iranian residents in Dubai and Sharjah usually need a marriage certificate attested for a spouse's visa, or children's birth certificates for school and residence. See attestation for a family visa. The original stays with family in Iran for the Iranian steps and is then handed over for the UAE stage, so you do not need to travel.
If you also studied, married or had a child in Iraq, the steps for those papers are on Iraq certificate attestation.
Problems specific to Iranian files
- Solar Hijri dates. Iranian documents use the Persian calendar. The translation must give Gregorian dates, or a date of birth may be read wrongly.
- Persian names in English. Names such as Mohammad or Hosseini are spelled several ways. Match the translation to your passport.
- Shenasnameh pages. The identity booklet records marriage and children on its pages, so the right pages must be translated and stamped.
- Arabic for UAE courts. If a court or ministry wants Arabic, we add a Persian to Arabic legal translation in Dubai.
