Fees and steps checked on

Bangladesh certificate attestation makes a Bangladeshi degree, SSC or HSC certificate, Nikah Nama, birth certificate or company paper valid for a UAE work permit, family visa or golden visa. Degrees start at the Ministry of Education, personal records at the relevant Dhaka ministry, then everything goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, a UAE embassy step and finally MOFA attestation in the UAE.

Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Bangladeshi files are quoted one by one because the first ministry changes with the document. See attestation fees.

The Bangladesh to UAE attestation chain

  1. Issuing body. The education board, university or registrar issues the certificate. Old certificates sometimes need a fresh copy first.
  2. Ministry of Education (academic papers). Degrees, diplomas, SSC and HSC certificates and transcripts are attested by the education ministry. The Dhaka foreign ministry will not take an academic paper without it.
  3. Ministry of Law and Justice (personal papers). VFS Global, MOFA's attestation service provider, lists this step for personal documents such as a Nikah Nama or affidavit.
  4. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka. Bangladesh now issues e-Apostilles through the MyGov platform. For the UAE this is the foreign ministry step, not the end of the chain.
  5. UAE embassy step. The UAE Embassy in Dhaka offers digital attestation: you apply on the MOFA portal, a courier collects the original and the document comes back by email attested by the embassy and MOFA together. VFS also lists a counter-attestation by the Bangladesh mission in the UAE for some files. Which of the two your document follows is confirmed from your copy.
  6. MOFA UAE. Included in the digital route; a separate step only on the counter-attestation route.

From inside the UAE

Most Bangladeshi clients are already working in Dubai, Sharjah or Abu Dhabi and cannot fly home for stamps. A family member in Bangladesh can take the original to the ministries, or the file travels by courier. The UAE part is done online, and MOFA lets anyone apply for you. Attested documents can be checked on verify.mofa.gov.ae once they come back.

Problems we see with Bangladeshi files

  • Name spelling. Bengali names are often written several ways in English. If your degree, Nikah Nama and passport differ, MOFA or the visa office may query the file. Keep a passport copy with every document.
  • Bengali-only papers. A Nikah Nama, Kabin Nama or older birth certificate in Bengali needs a certified translation. We arrange Bengali to English or Arabic legal translation in Dubai where the UAE office asks for it.
  • Missing education step. A degree sent straight to the foreign ministry is returned. The Ministry of Education must come first.
  • Laminated certificates. Some families laminate SSC and HSC certificates to protect them. Laminated documents cannot be attested, so a fresh certificate from the board may be needed.

Documents from India follow a different chain, set out on Indian certificate attestation, so if you hold papers from both countries the two routes can be planned side by side.

What the attested documents are used for

The most common reasons are a degree certificate attestation for a skilled work permit and a marriage certificate attestation for a wife's residence visa. Children's birth certificates follow the same chain for family sponsorship. For other origins see attestation by country.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Is the Bangladesh e-Apostille enough for a Dubai visa?

No. Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention in March 2025, but the UAE is not a member. A Bangladeshi document still needs the UAE embassy step and MOFA attestation before a UAE office accepts it.

How much does Bangladesh certificate attestation cost?

There is no fixed price because the steps differ for degrees, Nikah Nama and birth certificates. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts.

Does my Bangladeshi degree need the Ministry of Education first?

Yes. Academic papers go through the education board or university and the Ministry of Education before the foreign ministry in Dhaka will attest them. Skipping that step is a common reason for refusal.

Can I attest my Bangladeshi certificates without going back to Dhaka?

Yes. Someone in Bangladesh can hand the original to the ministries for you, or it travels by courier, and MOFA allows anyone to apply on your behalf for the UAE stage.

Do I need attested certificates for a UAE work permit as a Bangladeshi?

For skilled jobs, yes. The UAE work permit rules ask for an attested educational certificate, so a Bangladeshi degree or diploma must carry the full chain ending with MOFA.

Does a Bengali Nikah Nama need translation?

Yes. MOFA accepts Arabic or English, or a legally certified translation. A Nikah Nama or Kabin Nama written in Bengali needs a certified English or Arabic translation for UAE use.

How long does Bangladesh attestation take?

The Dhaka ministries do not publish fixed times, so your timeline is confirmed from your copy. On the UAE embassy digital route, most requests are completed in about 2 to 3 business days once the original is collected.
