Nepal certificate attestation is the chain that makes a Nepali SEE or SLC certificate, plus two certificate, degree, marriage registration or birth registration valid in the UAE. The document is attested in Kathmandu by the Department of Consular Services, part of Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then by the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu through MOFA's digital attestation, which already counts as MOFA attestation for use in the UAE.

Nepal attestation steps for the UAE
- The issuing office. The school board, university, ward office or district office that issued the record must have signed and sealed it properly. Academic papers should come from the board or university that keeps the record.
- Department of Consular Services, Kathmandu. Nepal's foreign ministry attests documents issued or attested by Nepali government bodies. Since 17 August 2026 the Nepal e-Attestation System (NEATS) takes applications, payments and appointments online.
- UAE Embassy in Kathmandu, digital. On the MOFA website you choose Nepal as the country of issuance and pay. An approved provider collects the original, and you receive the document by email attested by both the embassy and MOFA.
- Original back by courier. No separate MOFA step is needed inside the UAE.
Nepal is not in the Hague Apostille Convention, and neither is the UAE, so there is no apostille anywhere in this chain.

The UAE Embassy in Kathmandu asks for birth, marriage and death certificates in original form, and other documents as originals or true copies once Nepal's foreign ministry has attested them.
Fees you can expect
A power of attorney with commercial content counts as a commercial document at MOFA. Every official fee and the courier, in Nepal and in the UAE, are included in the total price you get before any work starts.
Working in the UAE and holding Nepali papers
Most Nepali clients are already on a UAE visa and need a degree attested for a job upgrade or a marriage certificate for a family visa. You do not need leave to go home. A relative in Kathmandu can visit the department with the NEATS appointment, or the original travels by courier, and the digitally attested copy reaches you in Dubai, Sharjah or Abu Dhabi by email.

Nepal-specific problems
- Bikram Sambat dates. Nepali records use the Bikram Sambat calendar. A translation should give the Gregorian date as well, or a UAE office may read the date of birth wrongly.
- Nepali-language records. Marriage and birth registrations are usually in Nepali. A certified English or Arabic translation is needed, which we arrange through legal translation in Dubai.
- Name spellings. Surnames and middle names are often spelled differently on school records and passports. Keep a passport copy with every file.
- Wrong embassy. The Nepal Embassy in Abu Dhabi stamp is not a replacement for the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu step.
