Fees and steps checked on
Sudan certificate attestation is how a Sudanese degree, marriage certificate or birth certificate is made valid for a job, a residence visa or a school in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah. The rule has not changed: the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs authenticates the document, a UAE mission attests it, and MOFA attestation completes it. What changed is the middle of that chain, after the war that began in 2023 and the break in diplomatic relations in 2025.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. For Sudan we confirm that a working route exists for your document before quoting. See attestation fees.
The situation in plain terms
| What | Status we could confirm |
|---|---|
| Sudanese foreign ministry authentication | Still the first step for Sudanese documents used abroad |
| Sudan and the UAE | Sudan cut diplomatic ties on 6 May 2025; the UAE said it did not recognise the move |
| Sudanese embassy and consulate in the UAE | Withdrawal announced by Sudan in May 2025 |
| UAE Embassy in Khartoum | Page still lists attestation; no current operating notice found |
| VFS Global for Sudan | Sudan is not on the VFS list for UAE attestation |
| MOFA in the UAE | Final stamp for personal and commercial documents |
We do not claim a UAE mission is open for Sudanese documents without a source. If the chain is not possible for your document right now, we say so before you pay anything.
The normal chain, when it runs
- Issuing authority in Sudan. The university, civil registry or court that issued the certificate.
- Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Authentication of the document.
- UAE mission. Attestation of the Sudanese ministry stamp.
- MOFA in the UAE. The last stamp, after which the document is accepted by UAE authorities.
Sudanese documents we are asked about
| Document | Usual use in the UAE | First step |
|---|---|---|
| University degree | Work permit for a skilled role, golden visa | University, then Sudanese MFA |
| Secondary school certificate | School or university admission | Education authority, then Sudanese MFA |
| Marriage certificate | Spouse residence visa | Issuing court or registry, then Sudanese MFA |
| Birth certificate | Child residence visa, school | Civil registry, then Sudanese MFA |
Lost or damaged originals
Many Sudanese families in the UAE left with copies only, or with papers damaged in the move. Attestation needs an original or an officially issued replacement. A relative or a lawyer in Sudan may be able to request a new copy from the issuing office, depending on where it is located and whether that office is working. Send whatever you have, including photos, and we tell you honestly what can be done.
Language and names
Sudanese certificates are mainly in Arabic, which MOFA accepts. Names are the usual issue: a four-part Sudanese name may be shortened or spelled differently on a passport and a UAE visa. Keep a passport copy with every file. If the receiving office asks for English, we add a legal translation.
What we check before quoting a Sudanese file
- The document itself. Is it an original or an official copy, and which office issued it?
- The Sudanese step. Whether the Sudanese foreign ministry can authenticate that document now, and where.
- The UAE step. Which UAE route is accepting Sudanese documents at the time of your request.
- The office in the UAE. What the employer, school or immigration office will accept, so you do not pay for a stamp nobody needs.
Only when all four are clear do you get a price and a timeline.
A spouse or child with certificates from Egypt needs that country's own chain: see Egypt certificate attestation.
If you are already in the UAE
Do not send an irreplaceable original anywhere until the route is confirmed. Start with a copy on WhatsApp. If a document has already been refused, see attestation rejected for the usual reasons. For the document side, see degree certificate attestation and marriage certificate attestation.
