Fees and steps checked on
Egyptian degree attestation is the chain that lets a degree from Cairo University, Ain Shams, Alexandria, Mansoura, Al-Azhar or a private Egyptian university count for a UAE work permit, a professional licence or an equivalency certificate. Egypt has no apostille. The degree is stamped by the university, authenticated by the higher education side, legalised by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then attested by the UAE Embassy in Cairo and MOFA.
We are a private document service in Dubai, not MOFA, an embassy or a government office. We arrange each step, with free document pickup and delivery anywhere in Dubai.
Price: There is no fixed price for Egypt. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
Why degrees take longer than other Egyptian papers
A birth or marriage certificate from Egypt goes almost straight to the foreign ministry. A degree does not. The ministry only legalises a signature it can recognise, and for a university degree that signature comes from the education authorities, not from the university clerk who printed the certificate. So the degree route has two extra stops in Egypt, and those stops decide most of the timing.
Documents you need
- The original degree certificate, or a certified true copy issued by the university if the original is lost.
- The transcript (academic record), if your employer, licensing body or equivalency file asks for it.
- A copy of your passport, so names can be checked against the Arabic certificate.
- For graduates of private universities or Al-Azhar, any stamp or letter that university gives for documents going abroad.
- No lamination. A laminated degree cannot be attested, so ask the university for a fresh copy first.
The Egyptian degree route step by step
- University stamp. The faculty or the university's graduate affairs office stamps and signs the certificate. If you hold a true copy, the dean's stamp is on it.
- Higher education authentication. Egyptian law firm guides describe the Supreme Council of Universities authentication office confirming the university stamp before the foreign ministry. Private universities and Al-Azhar have their own authentication channels. We confirm the office for your university from your copy.
- Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry legalises the education stamp, in Cairo or at one of its governorate offices.
- UAE Embassy in Cairo and MOFA. The application is made on the UAE MOFA website, the original is collected by an approved courier, and the embassy and MOFA attest it. The attested degree comes back by email and the original is returned.

Using the degree in the UAE
For a skilled work permit the attested degree is often enough. For a teaching licence, an engineering or medical licence, or a golden visa, the receiving body may also ask for an equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education, which builds on the attested degree. Start the attestation first. See attestation for an employment visa.
Egyptian degrees are printed in Arabic, and MOFA accepts Arabic as it is. If your employer wants English, we can add a legal translation after attestation.
You stay in the UAE
The original has to be in Egypt for the university and ministry stamps. A relative can take it, or it travels by courier, and it comes back attested. MOFA lets anyone apply on your behalf, so you do not need leave or a flight to Cairo.
Common problems with Egyptian degrees
- Skipping the education stamp. Families sometimes take the degree to the foreign ministry first. It is refused, and the file loses a week. The university and higher education steps must be on it already.
- Old certificates with a different layout. Degrees from many years ago may not match the format the authentication office expects. The fix is usually a fresh certified copy from the university, which we tell you about before you pay.
- Name spelling. Your name on the Arabic degree, transliterated, may not match your passport or work permit. Keep a passport copy in the file, and sort out any big difference before the chain starts.
The rules that apply to degrees from every country are on degree certificate attestation. Your marriage and children's papers from Egypt are on Egyptian marriage certificate attestation and Egyptian birth certificate attestation, and the full country picture is on Egypt certificate attestation.
