Fees and steps checked on
Lebanon certificate attestation makes a Lebanese degree, civil registry extract, marriage contract or company document valid for a UAE visa, job or licence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any emirate. Lebanon and the UAE are both outside the Hague Apostille Convention, so there is no apostille route. The standard chain is the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the UAE mission, then MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Lebanon has no fixed price, and the route for your document is confirmed from your copy. See attestation fees.
The Lebanon to UAE attestation route
The UAE rule for any document issued abroad is the same: the issuing country's foreign ministry, then the UAE embassy or consulate, then MOFA. For Lebanon that means:
- Issuing authority. The ministry, university, court or registry that issued the document makes sure it is in a form the foreign ministry will legalise. For degrees this is usually the education authority's stamp.
- Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry legalises the document.
- UAE embassy attestation. The UAE mission attests the Lebanese foreign ministry stamp. Lebanon is on the list of about 50 countries handled by VFS Global, MOFA's service provider, and government fees are paid on the MOFA portal.
- MOFA in the UAE. The final stamp.
Why we check Lebanese routes from a copy
Before your original moves anywhere, we confirm which route applies to your exact document. You pay nothing until the route is clear.

Language: Arabic, French or English
MOFA accepts documents in Arabic or English. Many Lebanese certificates are in Arabic and need no translation for the attestation. A document in French, for example some university transcripts, needs a certified translation. We arrange legal translation in Dubai when it is needed.
Already in the UAE?
The Lebanese steps need the original in Lebanon, so it travels by courier or a relative hands it in, then comes back attested. MOFA lets anyone apply on your behalf at the UAE end. For a family visa, the marriage certificate attestation and birth certificate attestation pages explain what the visa office asks for.
Documents from Syria follow a different chain, set out on Syria certificate attestation, so if you hold papers from both countries the two routes can be planned side by side.
Common problems with Lebanese documents
- Sending the wrong marriage document. A religious court contract and a civil registry certificate are different documents. We tell you from your copy which one your chain and your visa office need.
- Degree sent without the education stamp. The foreign ministry legalises the stamp before it, so a degree with no education authority stamp is refused.
- Name spelling. Arabic and French spellings of the same name can differ. Keep your passport copy with the file.
- Lamination. MOFA does not attest laminated documents.
For a degree used for a work permit, see degree certificate attestation. Other Middle East routes are on attestation by country.
