Nicaragua certificate attestation is how a Nicaraguan partida de nacimiento, certificado de matrimonio, título or notarial document is made valid in the UAE. The Nicaraguan part is clear: MINREX in Managua authenticates the document. The UAE part is the open question, because there is no UAE embassy in Managua and no published UAE attestation service that names Nicaragua. The route in four stages
- Original from the issuing office. The civil registry for births and marriages, the university for degrees, a Nicaraguan notary (abogado y notario) for powers of attorney and private documents.
- MINREX authentication. The Dirección General de Asuntos Jurídicos of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the competent authority. Nicaragua joined the Apostille Convention with effect from 14 May 2013.
- UAE mission step. Confirmed for your document type when you send a copy, since no UAE mission publishes a Nicaraguan service today.
- MOFA attestation in the UAE, applied for online or by an approved provider on your behalf.
Why we do not guess the UAE step
Some services quote every country the same way. For Nicaragua that would mean promising a route that is not written down anywhere official. From inside the UAE
You do not need to go to Managua. A relative or courier can take the original to MINREX, and the rest is handled on the confirmed route. Spanish documents also need an English or Arabic legal translation for most UAE authorities.
Documents from Mexico follow a different chain, set out on Mexico certificate attestation, so if you hold papers from both countries the two routes can be planned side by side.
Common issues
- Apostille treated as the finish line. For the UAE it is only the Nicaraguan step.
- Document translated before MINREX. Translate after the Nicaraguan authentication so the translation reflects the stamps.
- Two surnames on the document and one on the passport. Keep a passport copy with the file.
