Peru certificate attestation for the UAE

A Peruvian document for the UAE is translated into English, then the original and the translation are both legalised by Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the UAE Embassy in Lima and MOFA.

Peru certificate attestation makes a Peruvian degree (título or grado), school certificate, partida de nacimiento, acta de matrimonio or notarial power of attorney valid for a UAE visa, job or licence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate. Peru is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, but the UAE is not, so an apostille alone is not accepted. The UAE Embassy in Lima sets the order: an English translation, the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on both the original and the translation, the embassy itself, then MOFA attestation.

Price: There is no fixed price for Peru. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.

We are a private document service in Bur Dubai. We are not MOFA, an embassy or a government office. We plan the route, manage the file and offer free document pickup and delivery anywhere in Dubai.

The Peru to UAE attestation route

The UAE Embassy in Lima lists these steps for documents it attests:

  1. Issuing authority. The university, school, RENIEC, municipality or notary that issued the document makes sure its signature is one the foreign ministry can verify.
  2. English translation. The document is translated into English by an official translator.
  3. Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both documents, the Spanish original and the English translation, are attested by the ministry.
  4. UAE Embassy in Lima. An appointment for delivery is requested in advance, the fee is paid online and the receipt goes in with the documents.
  5. MOFA in the UAE. The final stamp, unless the embassy issues a digital attestation that already includes MOFA. We confirm which applies from your copy.

Peru is also on the list of about 50 countries where VFS Global, MOFA's attestation service provider, handles UAE embassy attestation.

Why the translation comes early

In many countries the translation is done in the UAE at the end. For Peru, the Lima embassy wants the English version legalised in Peru alongside the original. Translating late means sending the file back to the ministry. We plan the translation first, so the ministry stamps both documents together.

Fees in one place

Our quote includes all official fees, Peruvian and UAE, plus the translation and courier, so you see one total figure before you decide.

Already in the UAE?

The ministry and the embassy need the paper originals in Lima, so they travel by courier or a relative hands them in, then come back attested. MOFA lets anyone apply on your behalf at the UAE end. For a family visa, the marriage certificate attestation and birth certificate attestation pages explain what the visa office asks for.

Documents from Chile go through their own chain on Chile certificate attestation, and Colombian papers on Colombia certificate attestation.

Common problems with Peruvian documents

  • Apostille ordered by mistake. For the UAE you need the legalisation route and the UAE embassy, not an apostille on its own.
  • Translation not legalised. An English translation done outside Peru, or not stamped by the ministry, does not meet the Lima embassy's rule.
  • Old civil records. Some authorities want a recently issued copy of a partida. Check the date before sending it.
  • Two surnames. Peruvian records show both. Keep a passport copy with the file so every document matches.
  • Lamination. MOFA does not attest laminated documents.

For a degree used for a work permit, see degree certificate attestation. Other routes are on attestation by country.

Questions people ask

Is a Peruvian apostille enough for the UAE?

No. Peru is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, but the UAE is not. A Peruvian document also needs the UAE Embassy in Lima and MOFA attestation.

Why does my Peruvian document need two legalisations?

The UAE Embassy in Lima asks for an English translation by an official translator, and for both the Spanish original and the translation to be attested by Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs before it attests them.

How much does Peru certificate attestation cost?

There is no fixed price for Peru. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts.

How do I hand documents to the UAE Embassy in Lima?

The embassy works by appointment. You request an appointment for delivery in advance and pay online, then the receipt goes in with the documents. We or someone in Lima handle this for you.

Is Peru covered by VFS Global for UAE attestation?

Yes. Peru is on the list of countries where VFS Global, MOFA's attestation service provider, processes UAE embassy attestation. We confirm which channel applies to your document from a copy.
