Fees and steps checked on
Slovak certificates reach Dubai for the usual reasons: an employer wants the degree checked, a family visa needs a birth or marriage record, or a company setup needs a signed mandate from home. The surprise is that the UAE half of the job happens in Austria. Slovak authorities do their part in Slovakia, and then the UAE Embassy in Vienna adds a digital stamp that carries MOFA attestation with it.
Price: There is no fixed price for Slovakia. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Our method for totals is set out on attestation fees.
A note on who we are: an independent company in Bur Dubai. MOFA, the embassies and the Slovak ministries are public bodies and we do not speak for them. Our courier collects and returns your papers anywhere in Dubai at no charge.
Superlegalisation in plain words
Slovakia runs two systems side by side. Members of the Hague Convention receive an apostille. Everyone else, the UAE included, receives superlegalisation, a longer chain of checks. Whoever files the Slovak request must write the destination country on it, otherwise the wrong stamp comes back. If you already hold an apostilled copy, keep it for Europe; it will not help in Vienna.
Which Slovak office goes first
| Your paper | First check | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Diploma, school leaving certificate | Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth | Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs |
| Medical, police or military school paper | The body responsible for that school | Same foreign ministry |
| Rodný list, sobášny list | The authority above the civil registry, confirmed from your copy | Same foreign ministry |
| Mandate signed at a notary | Authority over notaries, confirmed from your copy | Same foreign ministry |
The education ministry only takes paper applications, posted or handed in, because it inspects the original. It allows up to one month.
What happens at the Vienna counter
- Online first. The request is lodged on the MOFA website with UAE PASS. The Slovak Republic is selected as issuing country and the UAE charges are paid there.
- Morning drop off. Someone hands the original to the embassy on a weekday morning.
- Short wait. The embassy quotes 2 to 3 working days.
- Email result. A digital certificate arrives, signed off for both the embassy and the UAE ministry.
- Pick up. The paper is collected from Vienna in the same morning hours.
The Vienna mission does not take sealed plastic laminates, bundled sets, or anything issued outside Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia. Trade invoices and certificates of origin go to MOFA's eDAS system instead.
Uses we see most
- A degree for a work permit or a golden visa file; more on the employer side in degree certificate attestation.
- A child's rodný list for residency, with the visa side covered in birth certificate attestation.
- A sobášny list for spouse sponsorship; see marriage certificate attestation.
- A mandate for selling a flat in Košice or Bratislava. If it grants business powers, it is treated as a commercial paper.
- A commercial register extract for a UAE licence, with the founding deed handled as its own item.
Female surnames and accents
Slovak women's surnames normally add "ová", so Mr Horváth's wife is Mrs Horváthová. Accents and the háček on č, š and ž tend to disappear in UAE systems. Send passport copies for everyone named so the English or Arabic text follows them. Arabic for a court can be added by legal translation in Dubai.
Austrian papers share the Vienna counter but have their own chain: Austria certificate attestation. For Czech records, read Czech Republic certificate attestation.
You stay in Dubai
Nobody needs to travel. Anyone may lodge the MOFA request for you, and the original moves Bratislava to Vienna with a courier or a relative. The finished paper is delivered back to your home or office in Dubai.
