Fees and steps checked on
Slovenia certificate attestation for the UAE runs through a neighbouring country. The UAE has no embassy in Ljubljana, so a Slovenian degree, birth certificate or marriage certificate is first attested by Slovenia's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and then by the UAE Embassy in Vienna. Vienna uses MOFA's digital attestation, which means the embassy stamp and the MOFA attestation arrive together, ready for Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
Why Vienna handles Slovenian papers
The UAE Embassy in Vienna states that it attests documents issued in four places: the UAE, Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia. For a Slovenian document, the condition is simple: Slovenia's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs must have attested it first. A Slovenian apostille is useful in Europe, but on its own it is not the stamp the UAE asks for, because the UAE has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention.
How the chain works
- Slovenian issuing office or notary. Civil registry certificates come from the registry; copies, translations and powers of attorney go through a notary.
- Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Ljubljana. The ministry attests the signature and seal.
- MOFA application. The application is made on the MOFA website with UAE PASS, choosing Slovenia as the issuing country, and the fee is paid online.
- UAE Embassy in Vienna. The original is presented in Vienna. The embassy completes the digital attestation.
- Result by email. A digitally attested copy, stamped by the embassy and MOFA, can be checked on MOFA's verification service. The original comes back by courier.
MOFA says most of these digital requests are finished in 2 to 3 business days once the embassy has the original.

Fees we can confirm
Every official fee and the courier are included in the total price you get before any work starts. That covers the Slovenian ministry, the Vienna embassy and MOFA.
Doing it from the UAE
You stay in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah. You send the original to us or to a contact in Slovenia, we arrange the ministry step and the Vienna presentation, and you get the digital attestation by email while the original travels back. MOFA allows anyone to apply on your behalf, so you do not need to stand in any queue.
A spouse or child with certificates from Croatia needs that country's own chain: see Croatia certificate attestation.
Points to watch
- Slovenian language. MOFA accepts Arabic, English or a legally certified translation. If your certificate is only in Slovene, we arrange legal translation in Dubai.
- Diacritics. Names with č, š or ž sometimes appear without them on UAE visas. Keep a passport copy with the file so the match is obvious.
- Ministry first. Vienna will not attest a document the Slovenian ministry has not signed. Sending it there directly costs a courier round trip.
For degrees used in a work permit, read degree certificate attestation; for a child's residence visa, birth certificate attestation. To check a finished stamp, see MOFA attestation verification.
