Hungary certificate attestation makes a Hungarian diploma, birth or marriage certificate, power of attorney or company document valid for a UAE visa, job or licence in any emirate. Because the UAE is outside the Hague Apostille Convention, a Hungarian document is not apostilled for the UAE. It is legalised by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and then attested by the UAE Embassy in Budapest, with MOFA attestation as the UAE end of the chain.

Two tracks in Hungary
Hungarian public documents for use abroad follow one of two tracks, chosen by the country of use. Apostille countries get an apostille from the ministry's consular department. Countries outside the convention, such as the UAE, get ministerial legalisation, which is only the first part. The embassy of the country of use then completes the legalisation. The UAE must be named as the destination when the request is made, or the wrong stamp is issued.
Diplomas start at the Educational Authority
For a Hungarian university diploma, the order is:
- University. The diploma is issued and, at many universities, the legalisation request is made through the student office.
- Educational Authority (Oktatási Hivatal). It adds an intermediate legalisation.
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The consular department's customer service office carries out ministerial legalisation.
- UAE Embassy in Budapest. The final legalisation for UAE use.

Some documents need an extra certification before the ministry will legalise them. Which one depends on who signed the original, so we confirm it from your copy.
The UAE step in Budapest
The UAE Embassy in Budapest lists attestation among its services. The Hungarian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, for its part, states that Hungarian documents can only be processed in Hungary, so there is no shortcut from the UAE side. We have not confirmed whether Budapest issues the MOFA digital attestation used by other UAE embassies in Europe. If it does, the embassy result already carries MOFA. If it does not, MOFA in the UAE adds the last stamp. Either way, you get the full route with your quote.
Language and names
Hungarian documents need a certified translation into English or Arabic for MOFA. Hungary has an official translation office, OFFI, whose certified translations are widely used for documents going abroad. Hungarian names put the family name first, so "Nagy Péter" on a certificate is "Péter Nagy" in a passport. Accents such as ő and ű are often dropped. Send a passport copy so every translation matches it. A legal translation in Dubai can add Arabic at the end.
