Malaysia certificate attestation is the set of stamps that lets a Malaysian degree, transcript, birth certificate, marriage certificate or company paper be used for a UAE job, visa or licence. Academic papers are endorsed by the education ministry, every document is authenticated by Wisma Putra (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya), then the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur attests it and the chain closes with MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Malaysia is quoted per document because the first step changes. See attestation fees.
Step by step from Malaysia
- Notarisation where needed. Contracts, powers of attorney, affidavits and true copies are first notarised by a Malaysian notary public, who must state what was done. A signature alone is not enough.
- Education ministry for academic papers. Degrees and diplomas are endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education, and school papers by the Ministry of Education, before Putrajaya.
- Wisma Putra authentication. The Consular Division of the Malaysian foreign ministry in Putrajaya authenticates the document. This is the only place original Malaysian documents are authenticated, and the stamp goes on every page.
- UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The embassy attests the Wisma Putra stamp. VFS Global, MOFA's attestation service provider, lists Malaysia in its UAE route.
- MOFA UAE. The final stamp, done online inside the UAE.
Civil status documents such as birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates do not need another authority before Wisma Putra.

Official fees on the UAE side
Our quote includes the UAE mission, MOFA and Wisma Putra fees.
If you already live in the UAE
Malaysian professionals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi often need a degree attested when changing jobs or applying for recognition. The original travels to Malaysia by courier or with family, and comes back attested by Wisma Putra and the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The MOFA stage and, for degrees, the equivalency certificate are handled here.
Problems specific to Malaysian papers
- Bahasa Malaysia documents. JPN birth and marriage certificates are partly or fully in Malay. A certified English or Arabic translation is needed for MOFA, and it should be made after Wisma Putra so the stamp is translated too.
- Long names and patronymics. Names with "bin", "binti", "a/l" or "a/p" are often shortened in UAE systems. Keep a passport copy with the file so the match is clear.
- Missing education endorsement. A degree taken straight to Wisma Putra is turned back.
- Private universities. Degrees from private institutions must still pass the higher education ministry step.
If you also studied, married or had a child in Singapore, the steps for those papers are on Singapore certificate attestation.
How long the Malaysian route takes
Neither Wisma Putra nor the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur publishes a fixed processing time that we could confirm, so your timeline is given from your copy. Courier time to and from Malaysia is added on top. Once the attested original is back in the UAE, MOFA's courier route usually takes 1 to 3 business days.
Next: degree certificate attestation or marriage certificate attestation.
