Fees and steps checked on
Thailand certificate attestation turns a Thai university degree, house registration extract, birth certificate, marriage certificate or company affidavit into a document UAE authorities accept. In practice the Thai document is translated into English, legalised by the Department of Consular Affairs at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attested by the UAE Embassy in Bangkok and finished with MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Thai documents are quoted one at a time. See attestation fees.
Thai legalisation, then the UAE stamps
- Correct original. The record comes from the office that keeps it: the university registrar, the district office (amphoe or khet) for civil records, or the Department of Business Development for company papers.
- English translation. The Thai foreign ministry accepts documents in Thai or English. A Thai-language certificate is translated into English, and the translation is checked by the ministry.
- Department of Consular Affairs, Bangkok. The Legalization Division at Chaeng Watthana Road stamps the original. It certifies the seal and signature, never the content or the translation itself.
- UAE Embassy in Bangkok. The embassy attests the Thai ministry stamp. Thailand is not on the VFS Global list of UAE attestation countries, and we found no digital route for Thai documents, so the paper route applies.
- MOFA UAE. The last stamp, applied online in the UAE.
Thailand and the Apostille Convention
Thailand's accession was deposited on 30 June 2026 and enters into force on 28 February 2027, per the HCCH status table. After that date Thai offices may issue apostilles, but because the UAE is not a party, the UAE Embassy and MOFA steps still apply. The difference is explained on attestation vs apostille.

Applying from the UAE
Thai nationals in the UAE, and residents who studied or married in Thailand, rarely have time to wait in Bangkok. The original travels by courier or with a relative, goes through the Thai ministry and the UAE Embassy, and comes back to you in Dubai or Abu Dhabi for the MOFA stage.
Points that trip up Thai files
- Name changes. Thai citizens can change first or last names through the district office. If your degree shows a former name, the name change certificate needs the same chain.
- Two spellings in English. Thai names are romanised in several ways. Match the translation to your passport spelling.
- Translation done twice. If a UAE court or ministry wants Arabic, plan the legal translation in Dubai from the English version so nothing is redone.
- Old house registration extracts. Bring a recent certified copy rather than an old photocopy.
Holding a second set of papers from Malaysia? The route is on Malaysia certificate attestation, and both sets can go into one request.
Thai documents for families and businesses
Couples who married in Thailand need the Kor Ror 3 marriage registration attested before a spouse can be sponsored, and a child born in Thailand needs the birth certificate with the same chain. Thai companies opening in a UAE free zone usually need the company affidavit and a board resolution, each counted as a commercial document at MOFA. Tell us the purpose first, because the receiving UAE office decides which papers it wants.
Next routes: birth certificate attestation and degree certificate attestation.
