Fees and steps checked on

A couple who married in Qatar and later moved to the UAE needs one paper above all for the spouse residence visa: the Qatari marriage certificate, legalised in Doha and attested for the UAE. Without it the family visa application stalls.

DubaiCertificateAttestation.com is a private document service. We are not MOFA, an embassy or a government office. We collect your papers for free anywhere in Dubai, run the Doha steps through our partners and deliver the attested certificate back to your door.

Price: There is no fixed price for Qatar. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.

Where Qatari marriages are registered

In Qatar, Muslim marriages are performed at the Family Court, and the Supreme Judiciary Council keeps the register of marriages and divorces. The UK government's guide to family law in Qatar also notes that couples take medical tests before a Family Court wedding. The court certificate you received on the day is the starting point for UAE use.

Some expat couples in Doha married at a church or at their own embassy instead. That certificate may not be Qatari at all. If a foreign embassy signed it, it is treated as a document of that country, and the UAE stamp has to come from the UAE mission there. We check this from a photo before anything moves.

The chain, in short

Order Office What happens
1 Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Doha Legalises the court certificate
2 UAE Embassy in Doha Attests the Qatari stamp online, with MOFA included
3 Courier Returns the paper original to you

The embassy lists the Qatari foreign ministry stamp as a firm first step. Applications are made on the UAE MOFA website with UAE PASS. Once a complete request is in, the courier normally collects within a day and returns the original 24 to 48 hours after release. The digitally attested copy lands in your inbox first, and you can check it at verify.mofa.gov.ae. Full background on MOFA attestation is on its own page.

What to send us

  • A clear photo of the marriage certificate, front and back.
  • Both passports.
  • Old Qatar ID cards if you have them. Arabic names are often spelled one way on a QID and another way in a passport, and the visa office notices.
  • The date you must file the spouse visa.

The original itself goes to Doha. Our partners or a relative there can hand it in.

Language

Family Court certificates are in Arabic. MOFA accepts Arabic as it is, so most Qatari marriage files skip translation. If an employer or school in the UAE wants English, we add a legal translation.

Sponsoring children too

Babies born in Doha need attested Qatari birth certificates for their own UAE visas. They follow the same foreign ministry and embassy steps, so sending them with the marriage certificate saves a second courier round. See birth certificate attestation and attestation for a family visa.

Mistakes we see

  • Thinking a Gulf document is exempt. We found no rule letting Qatari marriage papers skip the embassy.
  • Wedding in Pakistan, India or the Philippines, life in Doha. The Doha embassy only attests Qatari papers. Your certificate follows the country where it was issued.
  • Laminated certificate. It cannot be stamped. Ask the court for a new copy.

Other Qatari papers, from degrees to company documents, are covered on Qatar certificate attestation. The general rules sit on marriage certificate attestation.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Who issues a marriage certificate in Qatar?

Muslim marriages are performed by the Qatar Family Court, and the Supreme Judiciary Council registers marriages and divorces. That court document is the one that goes through attestation for the UAE.

Our wedding was at a church or an embassy in Doha. Is it a Qatari document?

Not always. A certificate issued by a foreign embassy belongs to that embassy's country, so the Doha route may not apply. Send a photo and we tell you which country's chain your certificate follows.

Is there an apostille option in Qatar?

No. Qatar is not listed on the Hague Apostille Convention status table, and the UAE is not a member either, so Qatari papers use legalisation.

Will the UAE Embassy in Doha accept a photocopy?

No. Its rules say birth, marriage and death certificates must be originals. The courier brings the original back once the embassy releases it.

Is a separate trip to MOFA in Dubai needed?

No. Qatar is on the digital route, so the embassy stamp and the MOFA stamp arrive together by email.

What will it cost?

There is no fixed price for Qatar. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts.
