Fees and steps checked on
Seychelles certificate attestation is one of the cleaner routes into the UAE. A Seychelles birth certificate, marriage certificate, degree or company paper is first apostilled and attested by the Seychelles Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora. Then a single online application covers both the UAE Embassy in Victoria and MOFA attestation, with the result delivered by email.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. Fee details are on attestation fees.
One application, two stamps
The UAE Embassy in Victoria runs MOFA's digital attestation service for documents issued in the Seychelles. According to its MOFA page, the process is:
- Sign in to the MOFA website with UAE PASS and choose the attestation service.
- Select the Republic of Seychelles as the country of issue.
- Complete the form and pay the embassy and MOFA fees.
- A MOFA-approved provider contacts you and collects the original.
- You receive the document by email, attested by both the UAE Embassy in Victoria and MOFA.
- The original is returned by courier.
The result can be checked on MOFA attestation verification with the reference number and issue date. There is no separate MOFA visit in the UAE afterwards. More on the online side is on MOFA attestation online.
The Seychelles steps before the embassy
VFS Global, MOFA's attestation service provider, lists the Seychelles chain as notary, apostille, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE Embassy, then MOFA. The Seychelles civil status office describes marriage certificates being apostilled by the Supreme Court and then authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Which office applies the first stamp depends on the paper, so we confirm it from your copy.
Rules specific to Victoria
The embassy's page sets out conditions you will not see on most other country pages:
- No bundles. Documents apostilled together as a bundle are refused. Each one needs its own apostille.
- Powers of attorney must be signed before a notary or legal authority in the Seychelles first. A POA with commercial content counts as a commercial document.
- Memorandum and Articles of Association submitted together count as one commercial document. Submitted separately, each counts as its own document. Plan company documents attestation accordingly.
- Certified true copies need a "True Copy" stamp from the notary on every page. See certified true copy in Dubai.
- Civil records such as birth, marriage and death certificates must be originals.
- Only Seychelles papers. A foreign document cannot be attested in Victoria.
Documents and their route
| Document | Seychelles side | UAE side |
|---|---|---|
| Birth or marriage certificate | Original, apostille, foreign ministry | Digital: Embassy Victoria plus MOFA |
| Degree or diploma | Notary if needed, apostille, foreign ministry | Digital: Embassy Victoria plus MOFA |
| Power of attorney | Seychelles notary, apostille, foreign ministry | Digital, personal or commercial fee |
| Company documents | Notary, apostille, foreign ministry | Digital, commercial fee per document |
Language
Seychelles documents are usually in English or French. MOFA accepts English directly. French or Creole text needs a legally certified translation.
A spouse or child with certificates from Comoros needs that country's own chain: see Comoros certificate attestation.
Common mistakes
- Apostilling three certificates as one stapled set.
- Separating the MOA and AOA and paying twice.
- Laminating the original, which MOFA cannot attest.
Other countries are on attestation by country.
