Fees and steps checked on
Syrian degree attestation is the chain that lets a Syrian bachelor's, master's or medical degree count in the UAE for a work permit, a professional licence or an equivalency certificate. Syria has no apostille. The degree is confirmed on the Syrian education side, attested by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, then by the UAE Embassy in Damascus, and finished with MOFA attestation in the UAE.
We are a private document service, not MOFA, an embassy or a government office. We confirm the route on each file and arrange it, with free document pickup and delivery anywhere in Dubai.
Price: There is no fixed price for Syria. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
Why Syrian degrees need extra care
Employers and licensing bodies outside Syria know that Syrian degrees were hard to verify during the war years, when many records moved and some campuses closed. That is why the Syrian side matters so much. A degree with clear university confirmation and the right ministry stamps passes the UAE checks smoothly. A degree with only a foreign ministry stamp on an unconfirmed certificate raises questions at the equivalency or licence stage, even if it was attested.
Documents you need
- The original degree certificate.
- The transcript (academic record), which equivalency and licensing files usually ask for.
- A copy of your passport and, if you have it, your Syrian national number.
- For doctors, dentists and pharmacists, any internship or syndicate papers the UAE health authority lists.
- No lamination, no tape, no repairs. The Syrian ministry refuses damaged or altered documents.
Step by step
- University confirmation. The university's administration confirms the degree and stamps it. For graduates of closed or relocated faculties, the university tells you where the record is held.
- Higher education stamp, where needed. Many university degrees also need the Ministry of Higher Education stamp before the foreign ministry. We confirm this for your university and year from your copy.
- Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. The ministry attests the education stamp, now with a digital sticker at its Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Daraa offices.
- UAE Embassy in Damascus. The embassy attests the Syrian ministry stamp. How it is receiving documents at the moment is confirmed on each file.
- MOFA in the UAE. The final stamp, after which the degree can be used in any emirate.
Syrian education documents
| Document | Syrian side | Then |
|---|---|---|
| University degree | University, higher education stamp where needed | Syrian MFA, UAE Embassy Damascus, MOFA |
| Transcript | University, higher education stamp where needed | Syrian MFA, UAE Embassy Damascus, MOFA |
| Baccalaureate (secondary) | Education directorate, Ministry of Education | Syrian MFA, UAE Embassy Damascus, MOFA |
| Degree from a private university | University, plus any ministry stamp it needs | Syrian MFA, UAE Embassy Damascus, MOFA |
After attestation
MOFA accepts Arabic, so a Syrian degree does not need translation for the stamp. Recognition bodies and some employers want English, and a legal translation can be added after attestation. For health and teaching licences, a source verification often follows, see Dataflow verification. For the work permit side, see attestation for an employment visa.
Common problems with Syrian degrees
- Damaged originals. Many degrees were carried across borders, folded or taped. The Syrian ministry refuses damaged documents, so a new certificate or certified copy from the university is the fix.
- Missing transcript. The UAE equivalency asks for it, and getting it later means a second trip through Damascus.
- Name spelling. A Syrian name can be spelled several ways in Latin letters. Keep the passport copy in the file so the UAE side can match it.
The general rules for degrees are on degree certificate attestation. For family papers, see Syrian marriage certificate attestation and Syrian birth certificate attestation. Every Syrian document is on Syria certificate attestation.
