Fees and steps checked on
Tanzanians in the Emirates work as engineers, nurses, drivers and hotel staff, and almost all of them meet the same request: an attested certificate. A Tanzanian paper on its own carries no weight with a UAE visa office. It needs legalisation by the Tanzanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, a stamp from the UAE Embassy in Dar es Salaam, and finally MOFA attestation here. There is no apostille shortcut, because neither country belongs to the Hague convention.
We are a private document service, not MOFA, an embassy or a government office. We organise every Tanzanian and Emirati step and provide free document pickup and delivery anywhere in Dubai.
Price: There is no fixed price for Tanzania. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. More on what is included sits on our fees page.
Start with the body that issued it
The ministry's legal unit legalises a signature it can trust, so the first stop depends on the paper:
Degrees and diplomas. The university or college confirms the certificate and transcript. If you will need a UAE equivalency letter for a regulated job, ask early, because it is a separate process.
CSEE and ACSEE certificates. These come from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania, which is the body that vouches for them.
Birth, marriage and death certificates. Issued through RITA, the registration agency. Older handwritten entries sometimes need a fresh certified copy.
Affidavits and powers of attorney. Sworn before a notary or commissioner for oaths.
BRELA company papers. Treated as commercial at MOFA, with a higher UAE tariff.
The legal unit in Dar es Salaam
Tanzanian embassy pages say the ministry's legal unit legalises birth and death certificates and educational documents, among others. It works to a fixed schedule rather than every hour of every day, so a courier who arrives on the wrong morning simply waits. We plan the drop around it.
Zanzibar is its own case
Documents from Unguja or Pemba add a layer. Guidance from foreign missions says Zanzibar papers pass a Zanzibar office and then still go to the ministry in Dar es Salaam, because the mainland stamp is the one embassies recognise. A Zanzibar certificate sent straight to the UAE Embassy comes back unstamped.
The UAE Embassy and MOFA
The UAE Embassy in Dar es Salaam, in the Msasani area, attests documents issued in Tanzania. The request is lodged on the MOFA portal, and UAE fees are paid there. MOFA in the Emirates then adds the last seal, or the embassy issues a digital result that already contains it.
Swahili, English and names
Most degrees and many RITA certificates are in English, which MOFA reads. Anything in Swahili needs a certified translation, which we arrange through our legal translation desk. Check that your name appears in the same order as in your passport, because certificates and passports do not always agree.
What slows a Tanzanian file
Most delays are avoidable. A NECTA certificate with a different name order from the passport, a RITA entry that was never computerised, or a Zanzibar paper sent straight to Dar es Salaam without the island step will each cost days. So does a laminated certificate, which MOFA cannot stamp. We look for all four on your copy before the courier is booked, and the timing estimate in your quote already allows for the ministry's receiving days.
Papers from the neighbours
The Dar es Salaam embassy handles Tanzanian documents only. A Makerere degree goes through the Uganda route and a Nairobi one through the Kenya route.
