Fees and steps checked on
Palestine certificate attestation is the most route-sensitive case on this site. A Palestinian degree, birth certificate or marriage contract begins with legalisation by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. After that, the usual UAE embassy step does not exist in the normal form: MOFA's list of UAE missions abroad has no mission for Palestine. The route to MOFA attestation is therefore confirmed document by document.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
First question: which authority issued your document?
Many Palestinian families hold documents from more than one system, and the issuing country decides the route, not your nationality.
| Your document was issued by | Route |
|---|---|
| A Palestinian ministry, university, court or civil registry | Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, then a UAE-side step confirmed per file, then MOFA |
| A Jordanian university or Jordanian civil registry | Jordanian foreign ministry, UAE Embassy Amman (digital, includes MOFA). See Jordan certificate attestation |
| An Egyptian, Lebanese or other university | That country's chain, through the UAE mission in that country |
| A UAE school or university | MOFA only, inside the UAE |
Why Amman is not a shortcut
People often suggest sending Palestinian papers to the UAE Embassy in Amman. MOFA's Amman page is explicit: documents not issued in Jordan must be attested by the UAE Embassy or Consulate in their country of issuance. A Palestinian-issued certificate sent to Amman comes back unattested, and the courier time is lost.
Steps for a Palestinian-issued document
- Issuing body. University, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, civil registry or Sharia court for marriage contracts.
- Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. Legalises the signature on the document.
- UAE-side step. Because there is no UAE mission listed for Palestine, MOFA's FAQ tells applicants to contact the ministry. We check the current requirement for your document type and tell you before anything is posted.
- MOFA in the UAE. The final attestation.
The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Abu Dhabi also serves Palestinians in the UAE. Whether its stamp forms part of your route is confirmed per file, since we have not found an official UAE source that sets this out.
Documents we are asked about
- University degrees and transcripts for work permits and degree certificate attestation.
- Marriage contracts from a Sharia court for a spouse visa; see marriage certificate attestation.
- Birth certificates for a child's residence visa.
- Powers of attorney for property or inheritance matters back home.
Practical points
- Arabic is fine. MOFA accepts Arabic, so most Palestinian documents need no translation.
- Use originals. MOFA requires the original document, not laminated.
- Names. Arabic names can be written several ways in English; your UAE file follows the passport you hold.
What to send us before anything is posted
Start with a copy, not the original. Send a clear photo or scan of the full document, front and back, and the passport page of the person named on it. Add three details: which Palestinian or other authority issued the paper, who needs it in the UAE (an employer, a school, a visa office or a company registry), and whether it must also be accepted in another country afterwards.
With that we tell you the issuing chain, whether anything is missing, and the total price. The original only moves once you have agreed the route, so it is never posted twice.
Who usually needs a Palestinian document attested
- Employees whose degree or transcript is part of a work permit or a professional registration.
- Families whose marriage contract or birth certificate supports a spouse or child residence file. The papers wanted for family files are listed on attestation for a family visa.
- Parents of school-age children who need school records accepted. See attestation for school admission.
- Owners and heirs who need a power of attorney or a court paper accepted in the UAE.
Mistakes that cost time
- Posting to Amman. Only Jordan-issued papers are attested there.
- Skipping the issuing body. A degree needs the university and education ministry stamps before the foreign ministry can legalise it.
- Treating nationality as the route. The country that issued the paper decides the chain, so a Palestinian holding a Jordanian or Egyptian degree follows that country's route.
- Laminating or stapling. Keep the paper flat and unmarked so every stamp fits.
How to check the result
After the final step, the MOFA attestation carries a reference number and an issue date. Enter both at verify.mofa.gov.ae to confirm MOFA issued it, as explained on MOFA attestation verification. Keep a colour scan of every stamp for your records.
Our embassy attestation page explains how embassy steps work in general. For Palestine, send a copy first and wait for the confirmed route before posting anything.
