Fees and steps checked on
Yemen certificate attestation lets a Yemeni university degree, marriage contract or birth certificate be accepted for a UAE job, residence visa or court file. The Yemeni stage is the familiar one: the issuing authority signs, then the consular department of the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or one of its governorate branches, legalises the document. The less familiar part is what follows, because MOFA lists no UAE mission in Yemen. The final stamp is always MOFA attestation.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
What is certain, and what we confirm per file
| Stage | Status |
|---|---|
| Issuing authority (university, court, civil registry, Ministry of Education) | Standard first step |
| Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consular department or governorate branch | Required before any foreign stamp |
| UAE-side step between Yemen and MOFA | No UAE mission for Yemen on MOFA's list; confirmed for your document |
| MOFA in the UAE | Final stamp for personal and commercial documents |
MOFA's FAQ covers this situation directly: where there is no UAE mission in the country, applicants contact the ministry. We do that check for your document type and give you the confirmed route with the quote. We do not guess, and we do not send a Yemeni original anywhere until the route is clear.
Do not send Yemeni papers to a neighbouring UAE embassy
It is tempting to post a Yemeni certificate to a UAE embassy in Oman, Jordan or Egypt. Those embassies' pages on the MOFA website list the countries they attest for, and each lists only its own host country plus the UAE. A Yemeni document sent there is returned.
Yemeni documents and their UAE uses
- Bachelor's degree and transcript. For a work permit in a skilled job; see degree certificate attestation.
- Marriage contract. Needed to sponsor a spouse; see marriage certificate attestation and attestation for a family visa.
- Birth certificate. For a child's residence visa; see birth certificate attestation.
- Secondary school certificate. For admission to a UAE school or university.
- Power of attorney. Often for property or inheritance matters in Yemen; commercial at MOFA if it covers business.
Arabic documents, fewer costs
Almost every Yemeni certificate is in Arabic, and MOFA accepts Arabic. That removes a translation step and its cost. Translation only matters if a document is in a third language, or if a UAE court asks for a specific certified format.
Common problems
- Old or damaged certificates. A torn or faded original is hard to legalise. A freshly issued copy from the authority is safer.
- Name spellings. Yemeni names written in English vary between passports, degrees and visas. Your UAE file follows the passport.
- Lamination. MOFA refuses laminated documents, so never laminate a certificate before it is attested.
Families in the UAE often hold papers from more than one country. If some of yours come from Oman, use the route on Oman certificate attestation for those.
Living in the UAE
You can start from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or any emirate. Send a copy first; once the route is confirmed, family in Yemen can request the document and take it to the foreign ministry, and we handle the steps that follow.
