Fees and steps checked on
Turkey birth certificate attestation is what Turkish families in the UAE need to sponsor a child born in Türkiye, or to register that child at a school. Türkiye does not issue a single paper called a birth certificate in the way many countries do. The birth is shown on a Formül A multilingual extract or a population register extract from the civil registry. That record is translated and notarised, certified by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attested by a UAE mission in Türkiye and finished with MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Price: There is no fixed price for Turkey. Send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
We are a private document service, not MOFA, an embassy or a government office. We offer free document pickup and delivery anywhere in Dubai.
Which documents you need
- A Formül A multilingual birth extract, or a population register extract (nüfus kayıt örneği), issued by the civil registry.
- The child's passport copy, and the sponsoring parent's passport copy.
- A notarised power of attorney, if a relative collects the record in Türkiye for you.
Formül A or population register extract
The Formül A comes from the convention on multilingual extracts of civil status records, which Türkiye joined in 1985. It is printed in several languages and is recognised abroad as proof that the birth was registered. The nüfus kayıt örneği is the national extract. It lists the person with parents and registration details, and some families find it useful for a visa file because it also shows the household. Which one to attest depends on what the UAE office asks for, so send us the request.
Step by step for a Turkish birth record
- Get the record. A relative orders the Formül A or extract from the civil registry office, or you request it through a Turkish consulate that offers the service.
- Sworn translation and notary. A yeminli tercüman translates it and a Turkish noter certifies the translation, where the file needs it.
- Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry certifies the signature and seal on the document.
- UAE Embassy in Ankara or UAE Consulate General in Istanbul. The UAE mission attests the ministry stamp.
- MOFA in the UAE. The last stamp, filed online once the record is back.
What the attested record is used for
Child residence visa. A child born in Türkiye is sponsored with an attested birth record, along with the parents' attested marriage record. See family visa services in Dubai.
School admission. Schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi often ask for the attested birth certificate on enrolment. See attestation for school admission.
Doing the whole family together
Parents sponsoring children usually also need the marriage record attested. Ordering the Formül A for each child and the Formül B for the marriage at the same registry visit, then sending them through the notary and the ministry as one batch, saves a second round in Türkiye.
Common problems with Turkish birth records
- e-Devlet printouts. They are easy to get from Dubai, but a printout can be refused where a signed document from the registry is expected.
- Turkish characters. "Çağrı" on the record and "Cagri" on the passport must be linked clearly in the translation.
- Arabic asked for later. Some UAE offices want Arabic as well as English. We add a legal translation in Dubai at the end so nothing is translated twice.
