Fees and steps checked on
Uzbekistan certificate attestation turns an Uzbek diploma, birth certificate or marriage certificate into a document that Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the other emirates accept. The chain starts with language: the document is translated by a sworn translator and notarised before any ministry looks at it. It then passes the Ministry of Justice, the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE Embassy in Tashkent and MOFA attestation.
Price: send a copy on WhatsApp and you get the total price plus VAT, all official fees included, before any work starts. See attestation fees.
Translation is step one, not an extra
In many countries translation is added at the end in Dubai. For Uzbekistan, the chain published by VFS Global puts sworn translation and notarisation first, so the justice ministry and the foreign ministry stamp the translated set. Getting the translation right at the start avoids redoing every stamp after it.
Uzbekistan to UAE: the stamps
| Order | Step | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sworn translation and notarisation | Notary office in Uzbekistan |
| 2 | Ministry of Justice | Tashkent |
| 3 | Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consular legalisation | Tashkent |
| 4 | UAE Embassy | Nasaf Street, Tashkent |
| 5 | MOFA | Online in the UAE |
The UAE Embassy in Tashkent has not published its attestation procedure on the MOFA website. The current way it receives documents is confirmed when you send a copy.
Two alphabets, one passport
Uzbekistan moved from Cyrillic to a Latin alphabet, and older certificates may be in Cyrillic or Russian while newer ones use Uzbek Latin. A family can have a father's diploma in one script and a child's birth certificate in another. That is fine for attestation, but each translation must use the same Latin spelling as the passport. One letter of difference between a diploma and a passport can stop a work permit, so we compare names before the translator starts.
Documents and their common UAE uses
- University diploma and transcript: skilled work permits and degree certificate attestation. See also attestation for an employment visa.
- Birth certificate: a child's residence visa or school admission, covered on our birth certificate attestation page.
- Marriage certificate: a spouse visa under your sponsorship.
- Power of attorney: signed before an Uzbek notary, personal or commercial at MOFA depending on what it covers.
- Company documents: charter or registration extract for a UAE company or bank, filed at MOFA as a commercial document.
What to avoid
- Stopping at the apostille. Uzbek offices issue apostilles, but the UAE does not recognise them on their own.
- Translating in Dubai first. The Uzbek chain expects a sworn translation notarised in Uzbekistan, so a UAE translation made beforehand does not replace step one.
- Laminating the diploma. MOFA refuses laminated originals.
Holding a second set of papers from Kazakhstan? The route is on Kazakhstan certificate attestation, and both sets can go into one request.
From the UAE
You can stay in the UAE. A relative in Tashkent, Samarkand or Fergana hands the original to the translator and notary, or it travels by courier. The finished document returns to you with MOFA's stamp, ready for the visa or employer file. If a UAE court or ministry later asks for an Arabic version, we add legal translation in Dubai from the attested original, so nothing in the Uzbek chain has to be repeated.
